June 1 Meet Summary

Parents and Swimmers-

What a great meet yesterday! So proud of each swimmers perfect effort!

I was so impressed with the how the swimmers embraced the "buddy swimmer" concept, helping them get to the heating area and cheering during the races.

One of my traditions is to award a female and male "swimmer of the meet". This award is based upon a multitude of things including attitude, effort, encouragement toward others, time improvement, etc.

This week's female swimmer of the meet was Lila Steinhoff. Lila is a young swimmer that just joined our team this year. She swam at the YMCA nearly every friday all winter and learned all her strokes and came to the meet and and gave it her all.  She got a state time in her 25 free and nearly in the 50 free.  She works so hard in practice and does exactly what we ask of her with her perfect effort.  I look forward to seeing her grow this season- what an awesome start Lila!

This week's male swimmer of the meet was Noah Boller . Noah is an amazing role model for our team, being one of the oldest and one of the most encouraging.  He takes care of his buddies, is a competitor and  always gives his 100% in all he does with integrity and grace- we are blessed that he is on our team!

This week we will be working on fine tuning our strokes and building endurance.

Be sure to come to practice so you can get better!

The registration for the meet next weekend is open and will close late Tuesday night. We will form the relays Wednesday and practice exchanges on Thursday morning. Practice on Thursday is mandatory for those who are placed in relays for the next weekend.

A reminder that pictures is being postponed till later in June since we still have swimmers in school-

I have enclosed the results for the meet as well as the time qualifications for both the Gold championship and State meet for your reference.

Please encourage your swimmers to work on improving their time and not comparing themselves to others-

Reach out if you need anything-

Blessings-

Coach JO

PS- I really am enjoying getting to know each of the swimmers- they are a blessing to me:)
