Great Meet June 4, 2022

Parents and Swimmers-

What a great meet yesterday!  So proud of each swimmers perfect effort!

I was so impressed with the how the swimmers embraced the "buddy swimmer" concept, helping them get to the heating area and cheering during the races.

One of my traditions is to award a female  and male  "swimmer of the meet".  This award is based upon a multitude of things including attitude, effort, encouragement toward others, time improvement, etc.

This week's female swimmer of the meet is Vail Welte.  Vail is 7 and swam the 100 freestyle in the meet and finished with a time of 2:28.27.  She had to wait until the very end of the meet to swim and she never gave up and fought till the end!  So proud of her perfect effort!

This week's  male swimmer of the meet is Dino Mahmmod.  This meet was Dino's first swim meet ever and he swam the 25 free in 24.79.  This is a KSI qualifying time.  He also stays late at practice everyday and helps get the ropes put away.  He is a competitor and I am excited to watch him grow as a swimmer.

This week we will be working on fine tuning our strokes and building endurance.

Be sure to come to practice so you can get better!

The registration for the meet next weekend is open and will close late Wednesday night.  We will form the relays Thursday and practice exchanges on Friday morning. Practice on Friday is mandatory for those who are placed in relays for the next weekend.

We still have 2 spots left for stroke and turn clinic that is on Mondays  from 8:00am-9:15am.  Technique work is valuable in such a short season- I recommend this for all swimmers.

Please be sure you have ordered your equipment for the season.  All swimmers need to have a cap, goggles, flippers and hand paddles.  I do have some at the pool but we have very limited sizes.

Reach out if you need anything-

Blessings-

Coach JO

PS- I really am enjoying getting to know each of the swimmers- they are a blessing to me:)
